About the Department...

The Department commenced with a Four year B.Tech. Course of 8 semesters in Biotechnology separately affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University (MTU) Lucknow, from the academic session 2006-2007 onwards, Total intake is 60 per year.

The newly form department aims to impart quality lectures to students with the blend of latest developments in the field of biotechnology

The Department has an excellent faculty profile. Faculty members from reputed institutions represent diverse areas of expertise in modern biology and biotechnology and as evidenced by their publications, conference presentations, awards, extramural grants, memberships in Societies/Fellowships in academics and other peer recognitions in India and abroad.

 
 
 

The Department plans to initiate research in agricultural and medical biotechnology to address the issues related to local population in Agra and Mathura region in particular and come up with possible solutions at large.

Few research objectives are -

  • To help and educate local farmers to imbibe eco-friendly technologies to raise crop productivity by use of bio-fertilizers
  • Use of Non conventional sources of energy such as biofules
  • Developing animal models for treatment of gall bladder cancer by immunotherapy, the most widely spread cancer in western U.P.
