Faculty      

Faculty & Staff:
The Department is headed by Professor Dr. S. N. Lall. At present, the Department of EIE has 12 staff members, including faculty, the Head of the Department, and 4 members of supporting staff. Among the faculty, two are PhD, two are post-graduates, two are pursuing post graduation and remaining are B.E. / B.Tech. Degree holders. The faculty as a whole has a good spread of specializations like Signal Processing, Communications, Computers, Digital Systems, VLSI Design, Process control, Analytical Instrumentation and Embedded Systems. The Department offers three electives at the final year level. Eleven faculty members are member of ISTE. All the instructional staff are Diploma holders. Every member of staff has a teaching load of not more than 12 to 18 periods/week either with two theory and one laboratory or one theory and two laboratory courses. All the staff have been teaching different subjects with one subject being taught for not more than 2 or 3 times in consecutive semesters. The Mahamaya Technical University (MTU) has offered different Elective Course (Please see Annexure-I), taught by the faculty, which is endeavoring to up date their knowledge through relevant short term programmes or independent efforts. All members of the faculty take active part in the proctorial system. As proctors they meet the students twice a month to monitor the student’s problems and academic progress. EIE department encourages the faculty and staff to improve their qualifications and skills that would enhance the teaching-learning process.
